About This Package

Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj offer a unique blend of Tibetan culture, Himalayan landscapes, and spiritual calm. Home to the Dalai Lama and thousands of Tibetan refugees, this hill town in the Kangra Valley has a soul unlike any other place in India. The Dhauladhar mountain range towers dramatically behind McLeod Ganj, making every view a postcard moment.

Our drivers know the winding roads up to McLeod Ganj well and can suggest the best local cafés, hidden viewpoints, and market streets. This is an ideal short trip for first-time Himalayan travellers — beautiful, accessible, and culturally rich.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to visit Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj?
March to June is perfect for pleasant weather and Triund trekking. October to February is great for snowfall views from McLeod Ganj. July–September brings monsoon and lush greenery but can have some road disruptions. The destination is accessible year-round unlike many other Himalayan spots.
Can we visit the Dalai Lama's temple?
Yes. The Tsuglagkhang Complex (Dalai Lama's temple complex) is open to visitors most days. Security checks are strict and visitors need to leave bags outside. When His Holiness is in residence, the area around the complex is busier. Check schedules in advance if you wish to attend a teaching.
Is the price per person or per car?
All our prices are per car, not per person. So whether you're 2 or 6 people, the price remains the same — making it very economical for groups and families.
Can we combine Dharamshala with Dalhousie or Amritsar?
Absolutely. Dalhousie (130 km from McLeod Ganj) and Amritsar (200 km from Dharamshala) are popular add-ons. We can plan a 5–6 day Punjab + Himachal circuit covering all three. Just let us know while booking and we'll adjust the pricing accordingly.
What is Triund and can we do it without a guide?
Triund is a popular 9 km trek from McLeod Ganj to a ridge with breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range. It's a moderate trek doable without a guide for reasonably fit travellers. Your driver will drop you at the trailhead and pick you up when you return. Allow 5–6 hours for a round trip.
