About This Package

The Delhi to Agra road trip is one of India's most iconic and visited routes β€” a smooth 3–4 hour drive down the Yamuna Expressway to the city of the Taj Mahal. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning for another sunrise at the world's most famous monument, Agra never fails to move you.

Our drivers know Agra well β€” which gate to enter the Taj for the best first view, the lesser-known Mehtab Bagh for a perfect sunset view of the Taj from across the Yamuna, and the best spots for Agra's famous petha and marble handicrafts. This trip can be done as a day trip or an overnight stay.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

01
Day 1
Delhi β€” Agra (Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri)
Depart Delhi early (5–6 AM) via Yamuna Expressway. Arrive Agra by 8–9 AM for the magical morning light at the Taj Mahal β€” the best time to visit. Explore the Taj grounds for 2 hours. Drive to Agra Fort (UNESCO Heritage Site, 2.5 km away). Lunch at a local restaurant. Then head to Fatehpur Sikri (40 km from Agra) β€” the abandoned Mughal city with stunning red sandstone architecture. Return to Agra or start return to Delhi.

Day 2 (Optional β€” Overnight Stay)

For those staying overnight, start Day 2 with sunrise at Mehtab Bagh β€” the garden directly across the Yamuna River, offering a spectacular view of the Taj at dawn without the crowds. Visit Itimad-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj), the first marble mausoleum in India. Explore the local Sadar Bazaar for petha, marble goods and handicrafts. Drive back to Delhi arriving by afternoon/evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to visit the Taj Mahal?
Sunrise is widely considered the best time β€” the soft golden light, fewer crowds, and the mist over the Yamuna create an unforgettable atmosphere. The Taj Mahal opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes at sunset. Friday is closed. We recommend arriving at 6 AM. October to March is the best season for comfortable weather.
Can this be done as a single-day trip from Delhi?
Yes! This is one of India's most popular day trips. Depart Delhi by 5 AM, reach Agra by 8–9 AM, visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, have lunch, and return to Delhi by 7–8 PM. If you want to add Fatehpur Sikri, staying overnight is more comfortable.
Is the price per person or per car?
All our prices are per car, not per person. Whether you travel alone or with 4 friends, the car price stays the same β€” making it very economical for groups and families compared to train tickets plus local transport.
Can we combine Agra with Jaipur (Golden Triangle)?
Absolutely. The Delhi–Agra–Jaipur Golden Triangle circuit is one of our most popular heritage packages. Agra to Jaipur is only 240 km, and adding Jaipur turns this into a 3–4 day road trip covering three of India's most iconic cities and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Do vehicles go right up to the Taj Mahal gate?
No β€” petrol/diesel vehicles cannot enter the no-pollution zone around the Taj. Your driver will park at the designated area (free) and you can take the electric shuttle (β‚Ή50 per person, approximately) or walk (10–15 min) to the gate. Your driver will wait and pick you up after your visit.
